Career Day
Randleman High School Students and Environmental Expert Share Career Paths with Fourth and Fifth Graders

Mrs. Smith, our school's guidance counselor, orchestrated an inspiring Career Day event last week that gave fourth and fifth-graders a firsthand look at potential career paths and opportunities awaiting them in high school and beyond.

The event featured two dynamic groups of guest speakers who shared their expertise and enthusiasm with eager students.

High School Students Inspire Next Generation

A group of Randleman High School students visited classrooms to discuss their experiences and the diverse career pathways available through the school's Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. The students were escorted by Mrs. Poppy Cox, the CTE coordinator at Randleman High School, who helped facilitate the presentations and answered questions about the specialized training opportunities available to high schoolers.

"It's wonderful to see our high school students serving as role models," Mrs. Smith said. "Their firsthand accounts of what they're learning really resonate with younger students who are beginning to think about their futures."

Environmental Education Takes Center Stage

Kathryn B. Reis, Environmental Education & Support Coordinator from the Randolph County Soil & Water Conservation District, also visited to introduce students to careers in environmental science and conservation. Reis engaged the students by bringing her gecko for the students to see.

Looking Ahead

Career Day events like this one help young students explore their interests and understand the educational pathways needed to achieve their goals. Mrs. Smith plans to make this an annual tradition, continuing to connect students with professionals who can inspire and guide them toward successful futures.
