After sharing the stories of eight incredible educators, The Tina West Sunshine Foundation awarded Randolph County School Systems very own Stephanie Shigemoto, 5th grade teacher at Level Cross Elementary School, as one of three final winners of The Tina West Sunshine Foundation Teacher Award! Stephanie has truly gone above and beyond for her students this year. While navigating the absence of a teammate, she has taken on tremendous additional responsibility — helping support an entire grade level while continuing to teach, communicate with families, attend meetings, organize field trips, grade, plan, and make sure every student receives what they need. Her dedication has already earned recognition as her school’s Teacher of the Year, and it is easy to see why. 🍎☀️

Ms. Shigemoto represents exactly what this award is about: compassion, dedication, resilience, and bringing a little more sunshine into the lives of others.
