At Monday evening’s meeting, the Randolph County Board of Commissioners approved a significant increase in local funding for the Randolph County School System for the 2026–2027 school year. This investment reflects a strong commitment to supporting student success and strengthening educational opportunities across our school system.
The leadership of our school system extends our sincere appreciation to the County Commissioners for their continued support of our schools, staff, and students. We also thank the members of the Board of Education for their dedication, leadership, and hard work throughout the budget development process. The collaborative efforts of these two groups of elected officials have helped secure important resources that will benefit the students in the Randolph County School System.

The “Pride in the Randolph County School System (RCSS)” program honors employees who consistently demonstrate pride in the school system and exemplify strong character and commitment in their everyday work. While the program primarily highlights smaller, often unnoticed acts of dedication, it also recognizes exceptional efforts tied to larger events when appropriate.
Employees chosen for this recognition are awarded a “Pride in the Randolph County School System” lapel pin. Recipients are selected by members of the RCSS Leadership Team, school principals, or Board of Education members.

Today, a new tradition began for our 5th graders as they painted their handprints on our Spirit Rock before heading off to middle school! 🎨🖐️
Each handprint represents memories made, friendships built, and the mark they’ve left on our school. We are so proud of this incredible group of students and can’t wait to see all they accomplish in their next chapter.
Once a LION, always a LION. 🦁

If you haven’t already registered your child for Kindergarten, don’t wait! Families registering new Kindergarten students should also complete transportation requests early. Waiting until the last minute to register may delay bus service at the start of school.
🚍 RCSS is planning for the 2026-2027 school year! Make sure your child's transportation request is on file!
If your student will need bus transportation at the beginning of the school year and you're unsure whether a request has been submitted, please contact your child's school as soon as possible.
🎒 Families registering new Kindergarten students should also complete transportation requests early. Waiting until the last minute to register may delay bus service at the start of school.
📅 Transportation requests must be submitted by July 31, 2026 for students to ride the bus during the first two weeks of school. Requests received after July 31 will not be eligible for bus service until after Labor Day.

A special thank you to our wonderful art teacher, Mrs. McNeal, for beautifully displaying our students’ artwork for Parent Night! Her thoughtful presentation highlighted the creativity and hard work of our students, turning the space into a gallery we could all be proud of. We appreciate the time and care she puts into showcasing their talents!
Our “To the Next Grade Level and Beyond” Transition Night was a great success! A heartfelt thank you to our amazing Lead Teacher, Lisa Young, for thoughtfully organizing such an informative and welcoming event to help families prepare for the year ahead. We also appreciate all of the parents who took the time to attend, ask questions, and stay engaged in their child’s educational journey. Your partnership and support make all the difference!
Our talented music specialist, Miranda Walker, brought creativity and joy to the stage as she led our 1st graders in their delightful musical, EIEI, OOPS!. It was a fun and memorable experience that showcased both their hard work and Ms. Walker’s passion for music education.
RCSS School Nutrition has been busy serving up Farm-to-School NC strawberries from Cottle Farms and Seven Springs 🍓 We've also taste tested crispy chicken taquitos and tropical trio popsicles with students at RMS and SWRMS 🌮🍧New items must pass student taste testing to be added to our menus! #RCSScafereinvented #fillyourtray
